Fireworks Expected With V8 Utes in Darwin
Wilson Brothers Racing is set to make a bang at the fourth round of the Yokohama V8 Utes series at Darwin's Hidden Valley Raceway this weekend, with team driver Kurt Wimmer picking up backing from Backwidow Fireworks for the event.
Coming off victory last time out in Tasmania, Wimmer will be one to watch in the much warmer climate of the Northern Territory.
Wilson Brothers Racing's team principal Cam Wilson has revved up the crew for a big weekend.
"We are very pleased to have Blackwidow Fireworks come on board for this weekend, and with Darwin cracker night next weekend, the timing is perfect for everybody," said Wilson.
"Kurt received massive television air time last time out in Tasmania being the leading Holden home, and we are looking forward to another strong showing this weekend.
"Already he has been a busy boy with public autograph signing sessions, including at the Skycity Casino."
Friday practice proved uneventful for the number 32 Holden ute, recording the 12th fastest time for the day.
"It's Kurt's first time at the circuit, and he never shows his hand too early in the weekend, so we are happy with our early pace," said Wilson.
"We know exactly where to find the time, and we have some good car setup changes coming for qualifying."
Race two for the weekend, the reverse grid top-16 race, will be telecast live on the Seven Network, 12:30pm on Sunday, check your TV guide for local details.
