ORRCON'S MAN OF STEEL HEADING HOME

Orrcon's Man of Steel, Derek Boyer, will be heading "home" when the V8 Supercar Championship heads back to Winton Motor Raceway in Victoria this weekend.

Boyer, Australia's Strongest Man, spent many of his formative years growing up in nearby Albury and is this weekend preparing to put on a "strength" show for his local fans.

Throughout the three-day V8 Supercar event at Winton Orrcon's Man of Steel will be sure to amaze onlookers with his brute strength as he lifts a V8 engine with ease, a feat which normally requires four men to complete.

Boyer, a six-time competitor in the World's Strongest Man championship, is set to astound spectators this weekend as he hoists 130 kilogram piece of Orrcon steel into the air. He will also demonstrate his strength by hauling an Atlas stone around throughout the weekend.

His prowess won't be limited to the racetrack as Orrcon's Man of Steel will be joining the Benalla business community in the inaugural Car Push in the main street of Benalla on Saturday night.

At this event Boyer will be pulling a Ford Falcon ute, with Orrcon's four promotional girls "the ALLGALS" aboard, over the designated course. It is expected over 30 businesses from the Benalla district will be entering teams of four for the event.

The last time Boyer showed his strength by pulling a vehicle it was for a place in the Guinness Book of Records in 2005 when he added his name after pulling the heaviest vehicle over 100ft. The vehicle he pulled that time was a Kenworth Truck weighing 51 tonne.

"At Orrcon we are always looking for different ways to complement our motorsport program and promote our business of steel tube while having some fun, Derek is another example of this," said Orrcon's Sponsorship and Events Manager Stewart Smith.

"Derek is a perfect fit for our company, he shows superior strength, dedication to succeed and is also a real people's person. I am confident race fans will get a huge buzz when they see some of his amazing feats in person in Winton."

Just like the Orrcon supported WPS Racing V8 Supercar team Boyer lives life with power and passion! He is constantly looking for adventure and always keeps an open mind as to his body's potential, never setting any limits!!! He wants to look strong, be healthy and shake the very foundations with some of the biggest loads of Orrcon steel anybody has ever seen.
