Holden front runner and current Townsville record holder confident in machinery.

The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship heads to tropical north Queensland this weekend as drivers prepare for a heated battle at the Townsville 400.

Currently third in the standings, Holden front-runner David Reynolds has his sights firmly set on winning this year’s Championship crown and will be aiming for nothing short of victory.

Reynold’s challengers come no bigger than Red Bull Holden Racing’s Jamie Whincup who is the most successful driver to ever race in Townsville with nine race wins to his name - an astonishing six better than his nearest rival, Garth Tander.

Whincup believes the key to his continued success around the Townsville circuit will be maximising the potential of is all-new Holden Commodore.

All the action from this year’s Townsville 400 kicks off this Friday with every session live on Fox Sports.
