Hugely successful AirAsia Renault Clio Cup UK team Total Control Racing will make its first ever appearance at the world-renowned Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, 1st/2nd/3rd July, running a current specification Clio Cup car for racing rookie Nicolas Hamilton.

The 19-year-old, younger brother of 2008 FIA Formula One World Champion Lewis, will undoubtedly prove to be a major attraction for the hundreds of thousands of spectators in attendance at the glorious West Sussex estate between Friday and Sunday.

Although not taking part in a timed attack up the famous Goodwood Hill, Hamilton will provide a series of demonstration runs over the course of the three days. Furthermore, the team will be based in the massively popular ‘Formula One’ paddock – a prime location at the Festival of Speed.

For Wednesbury-based TCR, the chance to be involved in an event as popular and highly-regarded as Goodwood is a fantastic opportunity and team principal Lee Brookes is looking forward to being part of the true must-see motorsport and motoring event of the summer.

He said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be involved with the Festival of Speed for the first time, it’s a great privilege and a real treat. We know Nic is going to be a very popular draw and I know he’s really looking forward to meeting the spectators and giving some demo runs in his Clio. It’s such a fantastic event and a massively popular one as well, we can’t wait to be a part of it.”

So far in his first season of competition, Hamilton has been a revelation with a series of fantastic performances having finished eight of the 10 races contested – his best result so far being 10th place at the ultra-fast Thruxton Circuit in Hampshire. More than that though, the teenager is an incredible inspiration to others as he continually overcomes the challenges posed from living with cerebral palsy.

In addition to running Hamilton’s Clio over the course of the three days, TCR will also be promoting its available race drives in AirAsia Renault Clio Cup UK and the Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup.
