Le Mans -- The Major 2005 Events: Spectacle and innovation!

Cars, bikes, karts, trucks... The Le Mans 2005 calendar's major events will fill the hearts of motor sports lovers with joy as well as delighting enthusiasts who adore beautiful machinery and thrill-packed races.

The season will start on 19th and 20th March with the French Open Championship for Motor Cycles. On 26th and 27th the local roads will be the theatre of the Sarthe Rally for Motor Bikes (French Rally Championship). This will be an excellent test run for the 28th Le Mans 24 Hours for Motor Cycles on 16th and 17th April. In May, Le Mans will host the French round of the World Championship for Motor Cycles and its stars. From this year onwards June will be the month of the motor car at national level with the Le Mans Test day now programmed two weeks before the race itself On Saturday 18th June the start of the 73rd Le Mans 24 Hours will be given at 16h00 sharp.

July: A new adventure begins with the World Series by Renault. An innovative racing concept from the brains of Renault Sport whose aim is to combine top-level motor racing with maximum crowd appeal. The programme consists of the 3.5 litre Formula Renault Series, FR 2000, the Mégane Trophy and the national FR 2000 and Renault Clio Championships. Admission is free and it will be well worth the visit for the F1 Show, the presentation of an F1 Renault on the Bugatti circuit. On 23rd and 24th the motor bikes will have their own summer show with the Promocourse Cups and the hill climb on the Bugatti circuit. At the end of August finish off your holidays with the Karting 24 Hours on 27th and 28th August on the Alain Prost circuit (ASK-A.C.O). In September comes the Historic weekend for nostalgia buffs with Le Mans GTs and protos and single-seaters including historic F1s. On 10th and 11th an endurance race will be held at Mansion Blanche for 50 ccs. On 24th and 25th the F.F.S.A Super Series, the French Motor Racing shop window, will put on a varied programme of events on the Bugatti circuit.

October: The Inter- Teams weekend enables the A.C.O to welcome all its licence holders and provide them with a full programme including events on asphalt on the Bugatti circuit and Off-Road courses at the 'Chemin des Boeufs.' The programme on 22nd and 23rd for the 24 Hour race for Trucks with Off-Road events, fully decorated trucks and the final of the European Cup for Trucks, will follow the same guidelines.
