Alex Job/Petersen final qualifying report

LE MANS, France -- June 12, 2003 -- Lucas Luhr qualified the No. 93 mail2web.com™ Alex Job Racing -- Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing Porsche on the LM GT pole during the second round of two-hour qualifying sessions for the 24 Heures du Mans. Luhr qualified the Porsche racing machine with a lap time of 4:06.984 with Michelin qualifying rubber. Luhr broke teammate Sascha Maassen's track record of 4:07.996 set during last night's session. They will both accompany Frenchman Emmanuel Collard at the 71st running of the world famous endurance race.

"We improved our lap time by one second which is fantastic. The conditions were good and thank you to great Michelin tires. I am enjoying the drive so far and now we just need to stay focused for the entire 24 hours. I'm going to get much sleep over the next two days."

Mike Petersen , Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning team co-owner:
"We're extremely happy with the pole, but it really is immaterial to the race. It's a good start but our main objective is to be in the number one position on Sunday afternoon. We can't get too excited yet, we've got a ways to go."

Alex Job , Alex Job Racing team owner:
"It's extremely satisfying to get the pole position especially since this is our first time for the AJR team to compete at Le Mans. Now that the qualifying and practice sessions are over what really counts is the 24-hour race. The team needs to spend a good day on Friday preparing for this race. Our main goal is to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans which we hope to do on the first attempt. We know we will have strong competition from the No. 81 Porsche, it will be a hard fought race."

The distinctive alliance of Alex Job Racing with Petersen Motorsports/ White Lightning Racing is a cooperative effort with members of both Alex Job Racing and Petersen /White Lighting preparing and crewing the car.
