The development of the Lister Storm LMP has started in Donington. The Lister Storm LMP will be participating in the 24 hours of Le Mans and the Le Mans Endurance Series 2004.

It was Andrea Piccini's first experience with this type of prototype. Piccini has just completed a positive season in the FIA GT championship with the English team.

The Donington track was in inhospitable condition: freezing temperatures (up to -6° at night) with a humid and sometimes frozen track.

Andrea Piccini

"After two seasons stuck inside the cockpit of a GT car, I finally put the visor on my helmet. It's a pity that the weather didn't permit me to do as well as I wanted to. It was impossible for us to warm up the tires and the brakes.

"In any case, I had the pleasure of driving a prototype that doesn't leave you wishing you had a Formula One instead. The engine is a 6 litre V8, with 5990 cc and has 530 bhp. The gear box has 6 speeds and the aerodynamics is very refined.

"This car wil be participating in the 24 hours of Le Mans and the Le Mans Endurance Series .I will not deny that the negotiations with the English team are close to an end but at the moment we aren't able to officially state anything.

"Whatever the case may be, we have mutual respect and esteem for each other and when I look towards my future, I'm serene and optimistic.
