British GT contender Adam aims to impress on world stage

The 30-year-old Scotsman, who races alongside Andrew Howard for Beechdean AMR on the national scene, is two points away from the British GT3 championship lead heading into the final round.

But before settling that particular fight, Adam will tackle the 6 Hours of Nurburgring, having been picked by Aston's factory squad to drive alongside Darren Turner and Stefan Mucke in the #97 GTE-Pro car.

"I know Darren and Stefan well and couldn’t be joining two better guys for this race," said Adam, who will making his first appearance in the Pro division.

"We have to be aiming for a podium and to try and secure as many manufacturer points as possible for Aston Martin Racing.

"The GTE version of the Vantage has slightly less power but more aerodynamic grip than the GT3 car, so you have to be very precise and understand how to consistently extract the best from it across every lap," he added. 

"That suits my driving style and I know the Nurburgring GP circuit, so hopefully I can play my part in delivering a strong result for Aston in what is one of the biggest events on the calendar."

Adam's most recent outings in WEC came in 2013, as he took GTE-Am podiums at Fuji and Shanghai, helping fellow Brits Jamie Campbell-Walter and Stuart Hall to the class title.
