Magnussen, who was released by McLaren at the start of the month after racing with the Woking squad in 2014 and serving as its reserve driver this year, had been linked to a WEC seat with Porsche by Danish media.

The 23-year-old Dane has previously stated he would not accept another year on the sidelines and could follow in the footsteps of his father Jan Magnussen, who embarked on a lengthy career in sportscars after a short stint in F1.

Turvey, 28, is another driver with long-term links with McLaren, having done test and development work for the British team for several years. The versatile racer currently competes in Super GT and Formula E.

Evans, 2012 GP3 champion and protege of current Porsche driver Mark Webber, will get a Catalunya run in addition to an already-confirmed outing in the WEC young drivers' test at Bahrain.

"We decided to give three young drivers a chance to test the Porsche 919 Hybrid," said Porsche team boss Andreas Seidl.

"The seat fit and simulator preperation is already done. We are looking forward to the test and will see what the future brings."

Evans and Turvey were part of the Jota Sport squad that finished runner-up in the LMP2 class of the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans, while the latter had won that very class the year before.
