Following a one month break after Le Mans 24 Hours, Rebellion Racing is back to race in the fourth round of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship, the 6 Hours of Nurburgring, that will be held at the Nurburgring GP circuit.

The team kicked off the 2016 FIA WEC racing season very well at the 6 Hours of Silverstone and 6 Hours of Spa, finishing third and fourth overall in both the races and taking the top two positions in the LMP1 Privateer class at each race with Rebellion’s No. 13 car driven by Alexandre Imperatori, Dominik Kraihamer and Matheo Tuscher.

The Le Mans 24 Hour race result was not as good as expected by the team.

The #12 Rebellion R-One AER driven by Nicolas Prost, Nick Heidfeld and Nelson Piquet Jr won the LMP1 Privateer, but not classified high up in the overall classification and the sister car #13 was forced to retire in the night while battling in fifth position.

Rebellion Racing is leading the FIA WEC LMP1 Privateer Team Trophy and the drivers of the #12 Rebellion R-One are leading the LMP1 Privateer Drivers classification. The Swiss team expect to increase their lead in both the classifications after the 6 Hours of Nurburgring.

Rebellion Racing retains its permanent driver line-up in car #13. The R-One will be shared by Alexandre Imperatori, Dominik Kraihamer and Mathéo Tuscher.

In car #12 Mathias Beche is back in the car alongside Nick Heidfeld and Nicolas Prost after Nelson Piquet Jr drove in the first three races of the FIA WEC including Le Mans 24 Hours.

Bart Hayden – Rebellion Racing Team Manager: “It's been a productive break since the last race at Le Mans, we had a lot of work to do to prepare for the second half of the season. This venue is a special one for us as we tragically lost one of our long time team members Damien « Damo » Lewis in an accident after the race last year. We will be aiming high and are targeting a good result here for our cars and in memory of our friend.”
