After Friday afternoon’s qualifying session for the 2016 FIA WEC 6 Hours of Spa race, Dominik Kraihamer and Alexandre Imperatori secured the second Pole position of the season in the LMP1 Privateers for the #13 Rebellion R-One AER.

They achieved an average lap time of 2:01.547 placing their car in P7 overall. The sister Rebellion R-One AER car #12 driven by Nelson Piquet Jr and Nick Heidfeld secured second fastest time in the LMP1 Privateers and P8 overall.

After the qualifying session, Nelson Piquet JR and Alexandre Imperatori both share the fastest top speed of the weekend so far with a recorded speed of 314,1 km/h.

Dominik Kraihamer – Rebellion R-One AER #13 : " I am really pleased with what we achieved during the qualifying session and from the start of the weekend with our engineers and our crew. I was quite surprised by the amount of grip, I didn’t use every last bit of it, but this makes us confident to be even more competitive in the future. It’s a learning process which never stops !"

Alexandre Imperatori – Rebellion R-One AER #13 : " I have done just one flying lap to secure our pole position. Dominik set a very good lap so it was easier for us. I went out with the same set of tyres so we will have an extra one for the race. This could be an advantage as we should have higher temperature than expected during the race."

Bart Hayden, REBELLION Racing Team Manager : " The drivers and the team did well to achieve the lap times that they posted, especially as the session was interrupted by a red flag. We are quietly confident for the race. "
