Extra Shanghai LMP1 running due to superseason test constraints
An extra practice session has been scheduled for the LMP1 field at this month's Shanghai round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The additional session of one hour and 45 minutes will take place on Friday morning ahead of the Shanghai 6 Hours race on November 18 at the behest of Michelin.
It will allow the French tyre manufacturer, which supplies the entire P1 field, to test tyres for future use in the WEC. The move reflects the fact that the WEC superseason, which straddles two calendar years, will allow for little or no winter testing.
The cars will be unavailable because they will be in freight in the wake of the Chinese event until their return to Europe after the Sebring 1000 eight-hour event next March.
There will, however, be a so-called promoter's test ahead of the Sebring race because it is a new circuit to the schedule for many of the teams in the series.
The tyre test will take place between 8am and 9:45am local time on Friday morning. Free practice begins at 11am with the first of Friday's two 90-minute sessions.
