Martin took over the drive just before the end of the first hour of racing and worked hard to move the car up from fourth to first position in the LMP2 class however fifteen minutes into the third hour of racing, coming out from Club Corner, Martin hit the pit wall and the number 26 car required extensive repairs.

"I was feeling confident when I took over from Mike, but towards the end of my stint there were a few spots of rain that made the track quite slippery. The changeable conditions meant that tyre choice was really important; it was difficult for us to make the right choice and I think everybody was struggling," Martin said.

With the number 26 car taking out the fastest lap of the race by over half a second and top speed for the LMP2 class, there’s no doubt they’ll be fighting for a podium finish in the 6 hours of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium in a few weeks.

"We’ve proven this weekend that we’re fast, it was just difficult with the weather and being our first round we were under prepared; at Spa we’ll be ready for the victory," Martin said.
