Berlin/Silverstone (rol/ot) The German sports car pilot Stefan Mücke had to wait more than two month to go to the hunt for podium placings again at the new FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Now, the fourth run at the WEC is scheduled for coming weekend (24 th to 26th of August) for the Aston Martin Racing works driver and his team colleagues Darren Turner (Great Britain) and Adrian Fernandez (Mexico) in the Vantage GTE. And the six hour race of Silverstone is a home game for Aston Martin Racing, because the British Team has its head office nearby.

„To race for Aston Martin in Silverstone certainly is something very special. The atmosphere is unique, especially because there will be a lot of company members at track and they support us as drivers quite well“, Stefan Mücke said. Together with his team colleagues, he was on the podium two times on position three in the previous three WEC races in the GTE Pro Class – at the season opening in the middle of March at the 12 hours of Sebring (USA) and at last at the 24 hours of Le Mans in the middle of June in France.

„It is finally time to be behind the wheel again after that long summer break. I am really looking forward to the race in Silverstone. I already celebrated a few podium placings on this beautiful and diversified track that I always come back to willingly – amongst others the championship title in 2009 at the Le Mans Series in the LMP1 race car“, Stefan Mücke explained, who certainly couldn’t be without racing during the summer break. The 30 year old Berlin took part at a Youngtimer race in the Ford Escort BDA in Oschersleben and finished second and even beat his father Peter Mücke in the Ford Capri RS. Stefan Mücke looks after the car of his father, the team principal of German racing stable Mücke Motorsport, in other races as well. The team is committed at the DTM, Formula-3-Euroseries, FIA Formula-3-European championships and at the ADAC Formula Masters. At last, about two weeks ago, Stefan Mücke looked after his father at a race on the Nürburgring, where Peter Mücke was class winner two times.

And Stefan Mücke aims for the first class win at the GTE Pro now at the fourth run of the WEC. „We had a few test drives with the Aston Martin Vantage GTE during the summer break, which were aimed for next year already. But now there should be some improvements yet“, the Berlin told. „I think we are able to get the class win in Silverstone, especially because the track fits our car quite well. The number one
