Now the waiting is finally over: The season opening of the FIA World Endurance Championship in Silverstone (England) is scheduled for coming weekend (18th to 20th of April) for the German sports car pilot Stefan Mücke from Berlin. The 32 year old will be on start at the six hour race on this traditional track again as an Aston Martin works driver for the seventh year in a row with his British team colleague Darren Turner in the Vantage GTE V8 in the Le Mans Grand Touring Endurance (LMGTE) Pro class. Last year they finished overall third at the Long Track World Champion Series of the GT drivers.

„The time of waiting is finally over and I am really looking forward to the first championship race, which will be a home race for my Team Aston Martin Racing same time“, Stefan Mücke said. „We will try to repeat our success from last year in this class. That will certainly be a tough matter, because our combatants didn’t sleep over the winter as well.“ Anyway, a podium placing for him and his team colleague would be a great debut at the world championship. „The winter break has been very long, so we still have to figure out where we stand at all“, the Berlin explained, who will meet the team of his father Peter Mücke, kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport, in Silverstone as well. Because on the traditional English race track the season opening of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship is scheduled for the same weekend. „That will also be a thrilling issue with the opportunity of great placings for the drivers of Mücke Motorsport“, Stefan Mücke said.

The 32 year old has the aim to finish this year’s season on the podium of the WEC overall rankings again in the end. „The LMGTE Pro Class will be hard fought this year as well. We will try our best to finish at the front of the field“, Stefan Mücke said. The highlight of this season of the Long Track World Championship will certainly be the 24 hour race of Le Mans (France) at the middle of June. And only one week later the next race beyond the WEC is scheduled with the 24 hour race on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. „That will also be a great challenge for me“, Stefan Mücke explained, who will have further adoptions at the GT3 this year. Between others he will be on start again at the GT Asia Series for the Team Craft Racing AMR from Hong Kong together with his team colleague Frank Yu (Hong Kong).

But for now the concentration of the Berlin is on the season opening of the Long Track World Championship in Silverstone. „It is always very special to drive on this track. And to finish on the podium would be a great achievement in the tenth year for Aston Martin Racing “, Stefan Mücke said.
