Day two of Strakka’s return to the FIA World Endurance saw the team continue to run strongly for the second day of Prologue, amassing a further 470km to total over 1000km across the last two days. In the process, the team easily completed the 50 laps required at Prologue to secure three engines for the season. As such, with no concerns over engine mileage, Strakka used the improved weather conditions today at Paul Ricard to assess a number of set up options and move forward with race pace.
Going to Silverstone with confidence
“The car felt good through the test and it responded really well to the changes we made,” says Nick Leventis. “The superb reliability ensured we progressed through the full programme we planned with an emphasis on the long run performance that we will need for racing. We now go to Silverstone with confidence and a real hunger to show our patient fans the wait has been worthwhile.”
“The team learnt a lot about going racing again over the two days,” says team principal Dan Walmsley. “The guys worked well in race weekend conditions and are quickly getting back into the swing of things. When we get back to the workshop, we’ll work on practice pit stops and driver changes to ensure every part of our race weekend is up to scratch.”
The first round of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship will take place on the 11th and 12th April at Silverstone.
