Hamilton Hires Lasoski to Drive #77 KNOXVILLE, IA (July 18) - Al Hamilton hired Danny Lasoski to drive his #77 Cornwell Tools J&J on the World of Outlaws tour Tuesday. Hamilton, who opened the season with Joe Gaerte as his driver, missed five Skoal Outlaw Series events while interviewing prospective successors to Gaerte's seat. The #77 was already in Knoxville, IA, for Wednesday's World of Outlaws event at Knoxville Raceway event when Hamilton made the announcement. "Danny and I have talked at different times over the last few years," Hamilton said. "We've always been buddies at the track. He approached me, and I was ready for a change, so I made the deal with him. "We're ready to go racing again, and we'll see how it goes." Lasoski, who ranks third in the Skoal Outlaw Series point standings, leaves the #47 Casey's General Stores Maxim. He won six Knoxville Raceway championships, including the last three, before hitting the World of Outlaws' trail full-time in 1995. WoO*eof
