JASON MEYERS POSTS TOP 3 FINISH FOLLOWING CRASH AT ELDORA

CLOVIS, Calif. (September 21, 2008) - Eldora Speedway- Rossburg, OH Racers want to win every time they climb into their race car. Jason Meyers is no different. Meyers started the night off by qualifying 5th which lined him up 3rd for heat one. A 5th place finish in his heat would keep Meyers out of the pill draw for the Crane Cams Dash, but Meyers would still make the dash through his qualifying time lining up in the 9th position. Meyers would finish the dash in the same position putting him 9th on the grid for the A main.

Meyers struggled to move forward early in the race, but as the laps wound down Meyers began to slowly charge to the front passing Jac Haudenschild for the 8th position and setting his sights on Terry McCarl. On lap 23 while racing with Kerry Madsen and Jac Haudenschild, contact entering turn 1 sent Meyers crashing violently head on into the turn 1 wall. As Meyers' car tumbled down the race track, he was struck by the 2 car of Craig Dollansky sending Meyers tumbling again. Fortunately Meyers was able to walk away from the accident. "That was absolutely the hardest crash I have ever taken," commented Meyers. "I have to give Steve Kent many thanks tonight for building me a race car that sustained a terrible crash and held together very well. I just hope Craig (Dollansky) is going to be okay." Craig Dollansky suffered a compound fracture in his right arm between the shoulder and elbow in the crash and is reported to be out for the remainder of the 2008 World of Outlaw race season. The Elite Racing team would post a 19th place finish.

Lebanon Valley Speedway- West Lebanon, NY

The race was originally scheduled for July 20 and just prior to the cars being pushed off for the 25-lap A-Feature event the rains came and forced the postponement of the race. Jason Meyers was scheduled to start on the pole of the original A-Feature, which is where he lined up in tonight's makeup event. With qualifying, heats, and the Crane Cams dash already completed WoO officials allowed the 22 starting cars to complete a short warm up session prior to tonight's running of the postponed A feature.

Meyers, the 2007 winner at Lebanon Valley jumped out to an early lead at the drop of the green flag. The race went green to checker from laps 1-23, with Meyers appearing to have the race in control. The restart on lap 23 saw Meyers jump out to a 2 car length advantage, but as the cars entered turn 3 for the final time, Jac Haudenschild went to the high side pulling side by side with Meyers. The two raced side by side down the front straightaway with Haudenschild stealing the victory by less than 12" at the line. "It is certainly disappointing to lose the race on the last lap, but unfortunately we were bitten by a gremlin from Friday night's crash. It appears that the fuel filter has come apart in the tank because it has plugged up the injection filter causing the motor to lose power early in the race. I thought we could hold on to it, but Haudenschild took a big chance going to the top of turns 3 and 4 and it paid off," said Meyers.

UP NEXT FOR ELITE RACING:

Jason Meyers and the Elite Racing Team travel full-time on the World of Outlaws (WoO) circuit, and will be stopping off next at the Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY on September 24th before heading to Willams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, PA for the Morgan Hughes National Open on September 26th and 27th.
