J&J's Victorious All Across The Map As Schatz, Dewease, Keel, Gray And Wilson Win Sprint Car Races Last Week
McKENZIE, TN - As the calendar reaches mid-August, sprint car teams typically find themselves seeing the end of the season in sight. With that in mind, the mindset changes from just going to the track to claiming championships and winning as many races as possible before the season ends. Last week, J&J Auto Racing competitors won races all over the map including in Montana with the Pennzoil World of Outlaws, Mississippi in USCS action, in Pennsylvania both at Lincoln Speedway and Port Royal Speedway and in Canada with the Southern Ontario Sprints series.

Donny Schatz had to leave the Knoxville Nationals thinking what if. His #15 ParkerStores J&J sprinter was one of the fastest all week at the "Superbowl of Sprint Car Racing", but after his first lap crash he had to find a way to bounce back. Last Tuesday night, Schatz was back on the track in Billings, MT, where he was joined by fellow J&J runner Andy Hillenburg, who sat out the Nationals trying to recover from a nasty accident at Eldora Speedway. Hillenburg piloted his #2 Luxaire J&J to the lead from the start and had command of the field for the first 12 laps. Schatz was a distant second, but became the leader when Hillenburg lost a right rear tire and spun to a stop in turn one. Schatz took over the lead and was never challenged for his ninth WoO win of the season.
Both Schatz and Hillenburg continued the Wild, Wild West swing for the Outlaws in Washington on Friday and Saturday. Schatz posted a fifth place finish on Friday night, and on Saturday he led 35 1/2 laps of the 40-lap feature, but was passed late when he got hung up in lapped traffic on the final circuit. His second place finish allowed the "Minot Missile" to take fourth in the WoO standings, while Hillenburg placed fifth in Saturday's final.
