'TK' Passes Eight Cars in Outlaws' Opener

BARBERVILLE, FL -- Tim Kaeding raced past eight cars on his way to a 10th-place finish in Friday's World of Outlaws Alltel DIRTcar Nationals season opener at Volusia Speedway Park.

"TK," who has won nine World of Outlaws "A" Features in his career, drove Tom Rolfe Racing's #10 J.F. McCray Plastering Maxim past Tim Shaffer, Terry McCarl, Kraig Kinser and Danny Lasoski during the opening lap. After falling as far back as 14th, he stormed past Jac Haudenschild, Greg Hodnett, Jeff Shepard and Fred Rahmer during the second half of the 30-lap race to claim 10th place.

Kaeding's 13.993-second lap around Volusia's high-speed half-mile oval was the 17th-fastest in the 46-car field and only .453 seconds off fast-qualifier Craig Dollansky's pace. He followed Daryn Pittman, Dollansky, Danny Smith and "King of the Outlaws" Steve Kinser across the finish line in the First Heat Race.
