World of Outlaws Acquires Three New Sponsors PLANO, TX (April 6) - The Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series has added three new sponsors to its Manufacturers Rookie of the Year Award program, series President Ted Johnson announced Monday. "We're glad to have Eagle Chassis, Racing Eclipse and Selma Shell on board with us," Johnson said. "We're really pleased how the Manufacturers Rookie of the Year program has grown in the last year." Dale Blaney, Craig Dollansky, Larry Neighbors, Daryn Pittman and Tyler Walker are racing for the Rookie of the Year Award during the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series' 20th Anniversary Season. The addition of Eagle Chassis, Racing Eclipse and Selma Shell brings the total number of companies participating in the Manufacturers Rookie of the Year program to 14. Based on this number of contributors, the 1998 Rookie of the Year will receive at least $15,000 and the runner-up a minimum of $5,000. Eagle Chassis, founded last October by Jerry Russell, is already enjoying tremendous growth. Former Rookies of the Year Joe Gaerte and Greg Hodnett, along with Danny Lasoski and Walker run the chassis regularly on the World of Outlaws tour. Racing Eclipse is the merchandising home of the Memphis-based "Kele Gang." The Kele Gang consists of Kele & Associates- sponsored drivers Sammy Swindell, Jeff Swindell, Greg Hodnett and newcomer Brooke Tatnell. Call Racing Eclipse for Kele Gang apparel. Look for the Racing Eclipse logo on all Kele Gang merchandise. Racing Eclipse can be contacted at 1-800-868-8406 or visit its web site at http://www.kele.com/kelegang. "I'm just glad to be able to put money back into the organization," said David Helm, owner of Selma Shell and the #11H Vivarin J&J Hodnett drives on the World of Outlaws tour. "The Manufacturers Rookie of the Year program is a good organization builder. The guys are really excited about it." J&J Chassis, Maxim Chassis, Crane Cams, Gaerte Engines, MSD Ignition, Pro Shocks and Shaver Racing Engines were the original manufacturers contributing to the World of Outlaws' Rookie of the Year Award. Bob Hilbert Sportswear, CSI Racewear, Sander Engineering and Schoenfeld Mufflers joined the program before the 1998 season started in February. WoO
