The second round of the Junior World Rally Championship disputed in Turkey wasn`t good for the Argentinian driver Marcos Ligato. Marcos left the race in the second day with gearbox problems in his Fiat Punto

The activity started on thursday with three sepecials satages. After one day, the Swedish driver Daniel Carlsson, with a Suzuki Ignis, was leading the competition followed by the Finn Kosti Katajamaki, with a Volkswagen Polo. Ligato, driver of the Italian team Top Run, won one special stage (the last of the day). The Argentinian finished the first day at 1'22" of the leader and 3 seconds behind Katajamaki. The most relevant of this first day was that Brice Tirabassi, winner of the season opener at Monaco and leader of the championship, finished out of the road in his Renault Clio of the Oreca Team.

`It was a very hard stage. The road was a disaster which made many drivers to quit the race. I believe that with Rubén García (co-driver) we found a good car in this first race in gravel with the Fiat Punto. In the start of the second special of the day, we saw Tirabassi out of the road, which is important for the championship. The car is good. We must try to beat Katajamaki and Carlsson if we want a fight for the victory on sunday`, said Ligato.

However the luck wasn`t with the Argentinian on saturday.

The Argentinian had mechanics problems in the gerabox of his Fiat in the special stage 11, which mede him left the race when he was in a promising secons position.

The Volkswagen Polo driver, Kosti Katajamaki took the victory after complete 1193,85 Km of lenght. The second finisher was Salvador Canellas with Suzuki Ignis and Guy Wilks in a Ford Puma.

After two rounds Kosti Katajamaki and Brice Tirabassi are the leaders of the Junior WRC with 10 points followed by Ligato with 8.
