Petter and Chris still holding third in Bulgaria
Another fantastic day is done here in Bulgaria for Petter and Chris, who are third in the overall classification. 5 stages are done today, and Petter and Chris had 3 stage wins. Our new codriver, Chris, were also very happy about the stage wins, as today he experienced his first WRC stage win ever. And he got three!
- This is so great, I'm so happy with the afternoon stages, says Petter Solberg. We did some minor changes with the set up during the mid-day service, and that made a big difference for me. And with the help of our small weather and safety crew, we made the correct tyre choice.
Sebastien Loeb is still leading the rally, and his team-mate Dani Sordo is second. Petter is third, 45 seconds behind the leader, but only 4 seconds behind Sordo. Citroen Junior Team driver, Sebastien Ogier is fourth, making it 4 Citroens in top 4.
Getting the best weather-information is quite important for the tyre-choice, and both Latvala and Hirvonen lost over a minute on the first stage this morning due to wrong weater-information. They started the day on hard compound tires, which were not the best choice in the rain and the cold conditions. Petter started off on soft compound tires. For the afternoon loop, the conditions dried up and he was on hard compound tires.
There are still 4 more stages to go tomorrow here in Bulgaria. First car will be on the road from 0846hrs (local time).
