Stage Details

The competition opens in the afternoon of Friday, August 21, with two entirely new special stages west of Jyväskylä. In the early evening, the rally returns to Jyväskylä for its traditional blast through the Harju park, before heading out again for two more forest stages. Capping up the day's activities will be the Hippos Superspecial, which will be run after sunset, but still exploiting its hospitality facilities to the full. Friday's leg includes nine stages, which add up to just over 100 kilometres.

Saturday, once again the busiest day of the rally, holds nearly twice that distance of competitive motoring, split between nine special stages. As before, the day's leg heads south-west, towards Tampere, and uses mostly familiar roads. There is a notable exception, however, as a totally new stage of over 30 kms is to be included. On return to Jyväskylä, the Hippos Superspecial will be used again, this time in daylight.

Sunday will be quite similar to last year, again with double usage of stages south of Jyväskylä. Six stages, totalling over 90 kms, remain on the day's schedule, and the winner is to mount the finish ramp in central Jyväskylä shortly after 4 p.m. Altogether, the rally comprises 24 special stages and a total competitive mileage of 384 kms.
