Angelo Medeghini and Barbara Capoferri on Subaru Impreza Spec.C finished Rally Finland 3rd of Group N

August 7th 2005-- Angelo and Barbara Medeghini placed 3rd of Group N at the end of Rally Finland, 10th round of the World Rally Championship. Quite a satisfactory result, considering that this was their first race with the new Subaru Impreza. A tough rally they entered only once in 1996.

The four special stages of today's last leg (66.56 km), two stages repeated twice, were quite demanding. The night rain made the route wet and slippery.

The Kome Sport crew maintained a good pace also today and during SS 21, the last one of the rally, 25.48 km, they were almost passing the driver ahead, but unfortunately they hit a loose stone and they had to run the last kilometers in bad conditions.

We are very satisfied with this result" said Angelo Medeghini "It has been our first race with the Subaru Impreza. This fast and tough rally gave us the possibility to practice and to find the best set up of the car. The last four stages have been difficult, they were wet and with several loose stones. During the last stage we hit a rock and we had to drive the last 5 km with a punctured tyre. Now we will concentrate preparing the next race in England".

The experience acquired in this rally will be very important for the next race, Rally Great Britain, sixth round of Production Car World Rally Championship, that will take place in Wales on September 16th - 18th . Angelo and Barbara Medeghini will confront again with their direct rivals in the Production Championship. At the moment the Kome Sport crew is 5th the PCWR Championship standings. The Kome Sport team will not enter Rally Japan but will be entering the last round of the PCWRC, Rally Australia.
