At the top Sebastien Loeb dominates ahead of teammates Daniel Sordo and Sebastien Ogier
After yesterday's first day of the WRC Rally Germany, following the partial neutralisation of the first two special stages, the times were revised by the organisers. This meant a move up from 24th to 20th place for Franz Wittmann/ Klaus Wicha, lying 9:10,6 minutes behind the lead.
Today the Interwetten Racing duo entered day two - with the twice completed, 48 kilometres long SS "Arena Panzerplatte" as the highlight - as 23rd car. At the end of the second leg the team of Ronny Leschhorn for ROMO Motorsport was able to draw, with 18th place, a satisfying balance.
Wittmann: "We were a bit more cautious on today's first four stages in order to prevent possible tyre damage, especially on the long special stage. In the afternoon I increased the speed and was 60 seconds faster overall on all four special stages than in the morning. We really feel quite at home in our car and are on the way to successfully completing our testing schedule for next week's IRC Barum Rally. Now all that's left is to reach the finish tomorrow."
The ADAC Rally Germany will be completed on Sunday with further five special stages. Thereby the last stage of the rally, "Circus Maximus Trier" will surely be an absolute highlight for the fans.
At the top French World Champion Sebastien Loeb never lowers his guard and is on his way to winning this rally for the eighth time in a row. In addition to his six WRC titles so far, this would mean another world record.
