Camier remains on sidelines for Misano WSBK round

All-Japan Superbike regular Takahashi, also a three-time grand prix winner in the 250cc/Moto2 class, replaced Camier at Jerez earlier this month, scoring three points for a 13th-place finish in the final race of the weekend.

A Honda statement ahead of this weekend's WSBK round at Misano said Camier "requires a little more time to regain sufficient strength and movement in his left shoulder", following his crash with Sandro Cortese in qualifying at Imola that left him with ligament damage.

It added that Camier hopes to be back in action for next month's Donington Park races.

Honda's first season with a works-backed team in WSBK since 2002 has been a tough one so far, as it sits fifth and last in the manufacturers' standings on just 36 points.

Camier scored only 26 points prior to his Imola crash, leaving him 15th in the standings, while teammate Ryuichi Kiyonari has only been able to muster 12 points.
