Davies hails Ducati upgrades after double win

With Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes sweeping the first two rounds of the 2016 season, Davies stunned Kawasaki by confidently winning both races at Aragon in dominant style.

It was the Welshman's third double WSBK win in his career, and the second one at the Spanish track.

While Davies previously named Ducati's main weakness as a lack of top speed, he said those issues have disappeared, thanks to the new package his team brought.

"This weekend feels like a dream. The bike was competitive from the get-go, and we only made small tweaks," said Davies, who now sits second in the standings.

"The technical upgrades brought here have given us what we needed. In Thailand I could only stay in the slipstream, while here I’ve been able to pass my opponents also on the straight."

Assen might not be the same

Despite having the bike to beat reigning champion Kawasaki in Aragon, Davies warned the team would have to begin the hard work again next time out at Assen

"In Assen we will start from scratch. The season has just begun, and things can change quite quickly, but I’m really happy with our overall package.

"It’s my third year with Ducati, and I witnessed a constant growth. Now the list of things to improve is really short, and I want to thank everybody in the team and the factory for the amount of work put in."
