JAVI ELEVENTH!
Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra rider Javier Fores finished an almost customary eleventh in first qualifying at Silverstone today. But today Javi was happy with his GSX-R600 Suzuki and ended the day optimistic about his chances of improvement tomorrow. Series leader Sebastien Charpentier (Honda) once again topped the standings on the opening day, with team mate Katsuaki Fujiwara just behind. Completing the provisional front row is Kevin Curtain (Yamaha) and the surprise of the day - ^Ñwild card^Ò Carl Crutchlow (Honda).
JAVI - 11th, 1:30.918
I am not sure what it is about eleventh, but I am fed up with it and determined to stop it right now. Seriously though, today I enjoyed my bike a lot and I am really looking forward to tomorrow and getting further up the grid. I think it is possible that I could get on the second row, but that would depend on the other riders and of course the weather. Like most people today, I spent most of the time learning the circuit. Maybe that is why the local ^Ñwild card^Ò did so well - he^Òs been here before! It is a very tiring circuit to ride, so it^Òs going to be very tough out there, but if I can get a good grid place tomorrow, it will make raceday so much more fun.
