2005 Supersport World Championship
Round 5, Silverstone, GB
Sunday 29th May
Circuit: 3.561 kms. Crowd: 70,000 (3-day) Weather: Mostly cloudy 16C.
JAVI TAKES 12TH.
Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra rider Javi Fores finished the fifth round of the 2005 World Supersport Championship race in twelfth position! The race saw a terrific battle between series leader Sebastien Charpentier (Honda) and Kevin Curtain (Yamaha). Curtain was glued to the rear wheel of the Honda for most of the 28-lapper, but was forced to slow his pace when his tyres started going off. Charpentier took the win - his third of the season- by almost three seconds at the flag. Curtain took runner-up spot with Frenchman Fabien Foret (Honda) third
JAVI - 12th
Today my Alstare Suzuki felt better then yesterday - and more like it did on Friday. But having to start so far down the grid was a big problem and this is not the circuit to make up huge advantages and be able to get to the front. I was 15th at the end of the first lap and got up to 12th by ninth lap, but from then I couldn't make any further progress. There's not much to say except I had hoped for much more, but it didn't happen.
