SHOWCASING THE BEST OF BRITISH

The British International Motor Show starts today at ExCel in London, showcasing some of the best cars in the world with over 600 models and 60 makes represented. This weekend, some of the best drivers in the world will be at Brands Hatch for Britain's rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) on 26/27 July.

At the British Motor Show, the cars are the stars, from the latest Ford Fiesta to the new Bentley Continental Flying Spur, both of which will be revealed at ExCel. At Brands Hatch, the emphasis is firmly on driving talent instead. British fans are in for a treat as not just one but three British stars head to the event with a chance of winning.

Three-time World Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx, two-time British Touring Car Champion James Thompson, and established race winner Rob Huff will all go head-to-head in an attempt to win their home race. With different cars and mixed fortunes in the championship so far, they all have a variety of different predictions about the forthcoming race weekend.

"My aim is just to enjoy myself," said BMW driver Andy Priaulx, who won at Brands Hatch last year. "Brands Hatch is an awesome track, and while I'd obviously like to win that is just not the way things are going for me at the moment. So I'm going to do the best job I possibly can, and push as hard as I can to keep the title fight alive."

James Thompson, who had a torrid time at the last round in Estoril with engine problems on his Honda, commented: "It's actually really hard for me to predict anything. I love the circuit and I've been on the podium there for the last few years, but because we missed out on track time in Portugal it's hard to know where we are. I'll certainly be aiming for another podium."

Robert Huff, a relative new boy to the touring car scene with Chevrolet, added: "Brands Hatch is the best race of the year for me, as I have so many friends and family down to watch. That gives a little bit of extra motivation, so if we could be somewhere in the top five, that would be great."
