LADA THIRD IN MANUFACTURERS CHAMPIONSHIP AFTER BRAZIL
Following the opening two races of the World Touring Car Championship in Curitiba, Brazil, LADA is now third in the manufacturers' championship.
The results of race one have been amended since the race finished, as a number of drivers received penalties. Dutch LADA driver Jaap Van Lagen ended the opening race in 15th place, but he was subsequently hit with a penalty for passing under a yellow flag and is now classified in 17th place.
However, it was good news for his Russian team mates Viktor Shapovalov and Kirill Ladygin. Following the reclassified results, Shapovalov, who runs the the team as well as driving the number 20 LADA 110 2.0, is now 13th in race one: his best-ever result. Ladygin, a former winner of the LADA Cup, is now classified just behind him in 14th.
These amendments mean that LADA now scores 10 manufacturer points, putting the Russian constructor third overall in the FIA WTCC rankings. The next round of the championship takes place from March 21-22 in Puebla, Mexico.
