LADA Sport Lukoil ready for the final rounds
James Thompson and Mikhail Kozlovskiy are flying to Shanghai
Two weeks left before the final rounds of the World Touring Car Championship-2013. In the end of October, drivers of the Russian team - James Thompson and Mikhail Kozlovskiy - will fly to Shanghai – the city, which will host WTCC races on 2-3 November. The competition will take place at Shanghai International Circuit, the home of Chinese F1 Grand -Prix The fast Shanghai racetrack (5.4 km) was launched in 2004, and will host WTCC round for the second time.
The final round of WTCC will traditionally take place in Macau. This race promises to be one of the most spectacular events in the calendar - thirty-four cars will appear on the grid. The city circuit in Macau is considered very difficult. This is a very fast and long track (6.1 km) with a number of “blind corners” and a lack of run-off areas. Such features are typical for most of the city racetracks, but in Macau, where top speed reaches 260 km/h, these peculiarities make the drivers pay more attention to the concentration and the accuracy of driving.
Before the final WTCC rounds in China and Macau LADA Sport LUKOIL racing team will also have three-day test session at Magny-Course (France). The Russian squad will continue to test new technical solutions for the evolution of LADA Granta in view of 2014 WTCC season.
