The trucks with all the equipment and the cars are already at place since Wednesday, the drivers can’t wait to score some points: The next challenge at the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) with the sixth season event and the season runs eleven and twelve on the Moscow Raceway, about 80 km western of the Russian capital city, for the German Team ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport from Friedersdorf is scheduled for coming weekend (7th/8th of June). The racing stable from Saxony wants to score points again on the 3.931 km long race track that will be the venue for the WTCC for the second time.
And it will be a little bit harder this time for the two drivers Gianni Morbidelli (Italy/#10) and René Münnich (Neusalza-Spremberg/#77), because their Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 have an additional weight on board. They will get 20 kg extra as well as their brand colleagues and the Honda Civic cars, 60 kg again for the Citroen C-Elysee and the Lada cars don’t have to get additional weight this time. „Of course this is a little handicap for us. But that doesn’t stop our drive to finish in the top ten again“, team principal René Münnich said.
The racing stable owner scored his first two championship points on position nine about two weeks ago (25 th of May) on the Salzburgring in Austria and had the second fastest lap time. The Italian Gianni Morbidelli, who scored the first pole position for the team from Saxony at the WTCC in Austria, but had to start from position six (best lap time in Q3 allegedly under yellow flag), gathered points as well on the positions ten and six and is now, before the half time race in Moscow, on position six at the drivers ranking. ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport remains on the third position of the team championship (Yokohama Teams` Trophy).
„We had a great performance in the first ten races. We are at the front of the field with our lap times. We are on the right way. And we want to show that in Moscow again“, René Münnich said. „And if we have the little bit of luck in this even drivers field, Gianni could possibly celebrate a podium placing. He is getting along better and better and is a big pleasure for the whole team.“ The former Formula 1 pilot from Italy caused furore already with his win in Budapest at the beginning of May.
