Simon Harrison to drive for JAS in Macau

SIMON HARRISON WITH JAS IN MACAU

Simon Harrison (UK) will be driving the Honda Accord Euro R with the JAS Motorsport Team in Macau, last round of the WTCC 2005.

The british driver began his carreer in 1987 winning the junior karting Championship and kept on racing in british and international race events. The 34-year old Briton's career high point came with victory in the BTCC Production Class in 2001, driving a Peugeot 306, and followed a pair of titles in the British National Saloon Championship.

In 2004 Simon participated to the ETCC at the wheel of a JAS-made Honda Civic Type R, maturing experience and claiming a second position of the Indipendents drivers in the last round in Dubai

Harrison will campaign one of two JAS-built Honda Accord in the Independents Trophy, joining Adriano De Micheli from Scuderia Niosi (USA). Simon will be sponsored by Noble Group, Asia's largest diversified commodities trading company.

"It's a great opportunity to race here in Macao with such a competitive car" Simon commented "I'm very familiar with Honda having already driven here a Integra Type R Dc 5 and I'm sure that with the help of the JAS Team I'll will be able to improve my records. We will aim to the Independents Trophy, however I would not be surprised to be fighting among the works drivers".

Simon Harrison is very familiar with the Guia Race, having raced several times before on this city track, also claiming an outstanding 3rd place in Qualifying at the wheel of his Honda Acura DC5 in 2003.

Unfortunately in that occasion he experienced how tough is the fight with the WTCC drivers, like Jorg Muller who dumped him off unceremoniously during the race in 2003.
