Tarquini excluded, Muller reprimanded for rules breaches
Honda World Touring Car Championship racer Gabriele Tarquini has been excluded from the first race at the Hungaroring, after his team breached parc ferme regulations between the two races.

The Italian started from the back of the grid for both races after crashing out at the start of qualifying. But at the circuit on the calendar where it is hardest to overtake, he had worked his way up to 11th by the end of the race, just outside of the points-paying positions.
The team has subsequently been found guilty of breaching parc ferme regulations by checking the tyre pressures before the repair time started ahead of race two. This resulted in the Civic driver being excluded from the race and losing the position, though this makes no difference to his points standings.
Tarquini's penalty is the only penalty handed out post-race, with all other incidents, including the aborted start in race one, having now been investigated.
Muller slapped on the wrist
However, Citroen Racing’s Yvan Muller has been given a reprimand by the FIA stewards after the pole position driver lined up in the wrong spot for the start of race one, forcing a second formation lap and the shortening of the race by one lap.
The Frenchman lined up one row ahead of the designated starting position, which caused problems further back as some drivers lined up against their markers and others in-line with the drivers in front, which left a gap on the grid ahead of Sebastien Loeb’s Citroen.
Muller’s reprimand is the second for the four-time champion in two race weekends after being given a reprimand after qualifying in Marrakech two weeks’ ago for slowing down in a dangerous manner during qualifying.
Should Muller pick up another reprimand, he will automatically pick up a 10-place grid penalty for the next race.
