At the halfway mark of six hours at the 12 Hours of Sebring race, the No. 61 Risi-Krohn Ferrari 430 GT of Tracy W. Krohn, Nic Jonsson and Eric van de Poele was fourth in class and 13th overall. Nic Jonsson was the starting driver, with the rotation then proceeding to Krohn and thirdly to van de Poele.Their sister car, the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 430 GT with drivers Mika Salo, Jaime Melo and Pierre Kaffer, took the GT2 class lead at just under the two-hour mark and has not relinquished since. The No. 61 has steadily climbed from its 12th place starting position to the current fourth. All six drivers have cycled through the car twice during the 57th running of the Mobil One12 Hours of Sebring race.
TRACY KROHN, Risi-Krohn Ferrari 430 GT Driver and Krohn Racing Owner:
"So far the car has been very good. We had a couple little tire
issues guessing which compounds to use. Other than that the car is really
well balanced. Everyone has been in the proper mindset for the endurance
race. Our goal is to keep this car going to the end and staying on the
track."
NIC JONSSON, Driver, No. 61 Risi-Krohn Ferrari 430 GT:
"Again, I think Risi Competizione/Krohn Racing have done a great job
preparing the Ferrari 430 GT car for us. We're running a very steady
pace out there. I think we're running around fifth place. The car is
very good. The tires seem to hold up decent. Of course, towards the end
of the stint the wear starts going off a little bit so you have to pace a
little bit in the middle of a stint. Everything is going smooth. The pit
stops have been smooth so far. Tracy and Eric did a great job. I think if
we just continue to doing this hopefully some people will make some
mistakes and we'll take advantage of attrition. Hopefully we can have
a very good finish."
ERIC VAN DE POELE, Driver, No. 61 Risi-Krohn Ferrari 430 GT:
"I don't know why I had some problems with my tires in the first
stint but I had a lot of understeer. Then I came in the pits and got new
tires. After that it was quite consistent and we tried to keep it
consistent. Then it was fine in the second stint."
