In America with the Risi Competizione crew Maranello, 6 July 2010 -- With its lack of fortune in the Le Mans 24 Hours consigned to the history books, Team Risi Competizione will be trying to make amends in the fourth round of the American Le Mans Series, which takes place this weekend at the Miller Motorsport Park in Tooele, Utah.
After just three races in the American championship, the team from Houston lies third in the Constructors' classification and second in the Drivers', courtesy of the Jaime Melo-Gianmaria Bruni duo. For this event, the team decided to entrust the Ferrari 430 GT2 No. 61 into the hands of an exceptional crew made up of Giancarlo Fisichella and Toni Vilander, currently competing in the Le Mans Series at the wheel of one of the three Ferrari's entered by the AF Corse team, from Piacenza, Italy.
Asked about this new experience, Giancarlo Fisichella, third driver for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, said: "I can't wait to take on this challenge with Risi Competizione and I'm excited at the thought of racing in the United States for the first time at the wheel of a Ferrari GT car. It is also a real pleasure to drive alongside drivers of the calibre of Gimmi Bruni and Jaime Melo, given their extensive experience in this type of racing. We tackled the Le Mans 24 Hours together and I am sure that we can get a good result this time round."
