Jim Hollenbeck Can't Shake Monkey At Chicagoland

Kalamazoo, Michigan - - ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Jim Hollenbeck headed into Chicagoland Speedway last weekend looking to end his season on a high note. Unfortunately, the driver of the EAS Myoplex Ford Taurus couldn't blow his misfortune away as they endured another weekend of obstacles.

The Hollenbeck Motorsports team motored into the 1.5-mile oval sporting sponsorship from Experimental & Applied Sciences, Inc. They are no stranger to racing as they participated in the sponsorship of Hank Parker Jr. the NASCAR Busch Series back in 2001.

"I'm not pleased with our performance," said Hollenbeck, following the practice session. "We're going to make some more changes to the car hoping to pick up the pace in qualifying. We don't have a provisional to fall back, so we have to gain entry into the field on time."

What started as an impressive lap in qualifying would soon turn into disaster as a shock broke underneath the EAS-Myoplex machine sending the second generation driver hard into the wall.

Luckily, Hollenbeck wasn't injured, but his ego was. "I really don't know what to say," stated the very dejected driver. "I had very high hopes for the race, especially for our sponsor. This has been a season full of lows, the only thing we can do now is head home and get ready for next year."

While Hollenbeck had hopes of making the ARCA Superspeedway race, the racecar driver was looking forward to racing his way towards the top for his sponsor, EAS. "I want them to know how much I appreciate their support of our race team. I really hope to make it up to them in the 2005 season."

The ARCA RE/MAX Series has two races remaining this season. While Hollenbeck won't enter the events, he'll be at his shop working on improving his team, with thoughts of looking ahead to a much stronger and more productive 2005 season.
