Watkins Glen, NY (July 17, 2001) - Race fans that weren't able to attend the July 7 Bet on USA 150 ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Watkins Glen International are in luck. Originally scheduled for broadcast in early August, Speedvision has moved up the Bet on USA 150 broadcast to the end of this week. Fans can catch the race starting on July 20 at 9:00 p.m., then again July 21 at 1:00 a.m. and finally July 23 at noon.
In its inaugural event at The Glen, the ARCA RE/MAX Series provided a strong show, with a very interesting ending. John Finger watched polesitter Blaise Alexander battle with Damon Lusk and Lyndon Amick and after a late incident, was able to get the win and drive into The Glen's Victory Circle. In all, three cautions slowed the event for nine laps while ten lead changes among five drivers kept things exciting up front throughout the 150-mile race.
Next up is the 2001 Global Crossing @ The Glen Winston Cup weekend August 9-12, featuring dramatic racing by the premier drivers in stock car racing, including three-time winner at The Glen Jeff Gordon and the reigning Global Crossing @ The Glen winner, Steve Park. Complementing the Winston Cup race is exciting sports car racing on Friday night with the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series in the Bully Hill Vineyards 250 and Saturday, the rising stars in the NASCAR Busch North Series take the green flag in the "Little Trees" 150 presented by Pepsi.
Tickets for the 2001 season at The Glen, including the Global Crossing @ The Glen weekend August 9-12, are now available. For tickets, reserved camping, and additional information, please contact the Watkins Glen ticket office at 607-535-2481 or log on to the official Watkins Glen Web site at www.theglen.com.
