Alex Garcia and Transnet Racing will race on Sunday in Long Beach.
Long Beach, California (USA), April 13th. Venezuelan driver, Alex Garcia, competing in the Toyota Atlantic Championship on the Transnet Racing Team, will start the race from the 22nd position. This will be the second race of the season and will take place in Long Beach, California on Sunday, April 14th.
After qualifying, Alex stated: "Although we still have a lot of work ahead of us, we've learned a lot about the car and the track during the practice and qualifying sessions. More importantly, I think that we now have the information we need to go forward." This is the first race for the Transnet Racing Team, as well as the driver, on the narrow streets of Long Beach.
Alex Garcia made his best time - 1:22:484, with an average speed of 85.914 mph, on the 17th qualifying lap.
Out of the 27 drivers competing in the race, 14 are rookies. Long Beach is a 3.168 km (1.968 miles) street race with 11 turns.
Transnet Racing was founded in 2002 and is the newest team to join the Toyota Atlantic Series. The team is based in Atlanta, GA (USA).
The race (32 laps) will take place Sunday April 14th, at 10 a.m. (local time) and will be broadcast by Speed Channel.
