Bonanomi poleman in Imola, Martini great third
Marco Bonanomi, the driver of Fisichella Motor Sport, conquered today his second pole position of the season after the one he "stealed" to Tuka Rocha in the very first event of the championship, on the Adria Raceway. The 21 years old driver from Brianza got the best time (1'39"965) lowering the one he signed yesterday during the free practice session.
Today he had to fight once more with his team mate Giacomo Ricci, and the thrilling challenge ended only when Bonanomi, in his last effort, took 4 tenth off from the previous record set by Ricci. Oliver Martini, from Astromega, did very well as he finished third, just before (but with the same time) the brave and raging Roldan Rodriguez (Minardi).
Stefano Gattuso (Autosport), pushed his Lola till the fifth place, followed by the Russian driver of the Euronova team, Petrov. Results that definetely tell how high is the level of competition showed in Imola by the team involved in the series.
Paolo Nocera, the third driver of Fisichella's team, that yesterday tested a brand new set up, got the seventh position, followed by Gavin Cronje and Matteo Cressoni. Tuka Rocha did well too, leading his Lola Light of Vanni-Traini Team in eleventh position.
