Priaulx and Carroll fly in Ralt test.
Ralt Engineering went to Pembrey last Thursday and Friday to evaluate its Formula 3 chassis following a disappointing start to the season.
In preparation for the season the car was tested by Andy Priaulx, so he was drafted in on Thursday to try to determine why the race results were not consistent with those expected from positive pre-season testing.
Andy completed 106 laps of the 1.5 mile circuit, with the car being returned to its original specification, and lapped within one hundredth of a second of championship leader, James Courtney.
On Friday Ralt put Scholarship Class championship leader, Adam Carroll, in the F302, and he did another 121 laps. Adam had never driven the car before or been to Pembrey, but despite this set the fastest time of the day by half a second. Several front running teams were also present at Pembrey so a benchmark was easy to find.
Adam's comment after the test was: "I was quite surprised at how good the car was, to be honest it was a lot better than I thought it would be. This was my first experience of the car and the track and although it was a little bit different to the Dallara, in the high-speed corners it was just as good. I can't see any reason why it should not be very competitive."
Ralt will now take the car to the official FOTA test on the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit tomorrow (Tuesday, 23rd April).
