Tough weekend for Team PSP at Croft - Racing incidents deny both drivers of strong results
Despite a chassis imbalance early in the weekend, Team PSP's drivers and engineers were confident of more good performances in race trim. However, on-track incidents involving the same competitor deprived Watson Smith of high top-ten finishes leaving the team little to show for their efforts to hone the handling of their Petronas-backed racecars.
Fariqe Hairuman: "It's been a very difficult weekend and luck has not gone my way today. Still, I know I'm learning and improving."
Shaun Watson-Smith: "We struggled with the pace of the car here. Despite that, we improved the chassis balance throughout the weekend and were gradually making up places in each race. However, in both the second and third races Tom Chilton hit me unnecessarily and I dropped back down the field. I know I got the performance out of the car - but the racing incidents put paid to my efforts."
Mike Carroll, (Chief Engineer): "This weekend has been really frustrating. It can't be right that we can lose track position through careless or over-aggressive driving by another competitor - there's enough clean on-track action for the spectators to enjoy without others resorting to such tactics."
David Wong, (Team Principal): "This was a tough weekend for the team, against ever tougher competition. Fariqe was unlucky once again but I'm confident he's learning a lot in BTCC. We must put this weekend behind us and move on."
