The outstanding contribution of a marshal in 2007 will be recognised by the RML Group 'Marshal of the Year Award' on Saturday (November 24).
Organised in association with the Monsieur Michel Chevereau, President on the Association des Commissaire de Route (ACRCPO), Circuit et Piste de l'Ouest, the award will be presented to mark the expertise, bravery, and commitment of a marshal this year.
2007 marks the second year of the award, after it was presented to Jacques Alanic at a glittering ceremony last November.
The trophy is inscribed with the name of each winner, and is kept on permanent display at the head offices of the ACRCPO. The winner receives a replica of the trophy as a reminder of their achievement.
The award will be presented by Daniel Poissenot, ACO Sporting Director and Deputy General Manager, on behalf of RML.
In 2007 RML's sportscar team were triumphant in the LMP2 class of the Le Mans Series, after being confirmed as champions following the Mil Milhas 1000km race at Interlagos, Brazil, earlier this month. RML also won the LMP2 class of the 2005 and 2006 Le Mans 24 Hours.
Phil Barker, Race Operations Director of RML Group, and team manager of the RML sportscar team, said: "It's a pleasure for the team to again be presenting this award in recognition of the fine work of the marshals who contribute their time throughout the racing season."
