TEAM BRUICHLADDICH RADICAL PROGRESS CONTINUES
The SR9's development continues at Spa and today's progress was pleasing for the team in terms of time gained over the weekend. It was disappointing that it translated to only 6th on the LMP2 grid but with such close lap times and a 1000km distance it's all looking good for great racing tomorrow and hopefully a strong result.
Having spent yesterday learning more about the newly developed nose it was back to the original look for the competition. Hopefully before Silverstone the design will be complete following the high speed testing here and a spare will be made so that it can be used for racing. Changes to the rear wing have also shown to be another significant step forward.
The car handling has got progressively better throughout the weekend but Stuart Moseley was caught out by a huge leap forward after the morning practice and missed out on the best of the tyres at the start of today's qualifying session.
Tim Greaves, Team Owner and driver "We haven't had an ideal set-up for either nose so the qualifying time is encouraging. As ever endurance racing is about reliability and so much is down to supplier component reliability. We've worked on as much for reliability as we could during the break but anything can happen."
Stuart Moseley, Driver: "I'm really pleased that we're in the 2.08s'. When I got in the car I was ready for an improvement but not for the car to be so much better than this morning so I could have got into the 2.07s' if I'd known. The car's handling really well now and I'm very happy with the pace for the race."
