Anthony Davidson and Nick Heidfeld will test for Williams in December, the team confirmed on November 8th. Jerez will be the circuit, with Davidson trying out from December 1st and Heidfeld in action from the 9th. Davidson has been third driver for BAR this season and Heidfeld competed with Jordan.

"These tests are intended to assist the process of determining the team's full driver line-up for 2005," said a statement from Williams. Williams' regular test driver Antonio Pizzonia will be on track from November 24th at Barcelona, along with new signing Mark Webber.

Speculation has it that Pizzonia is the favourite for the vacant race seat but it depends what happens during testing. Should Pizzonia be promoted to a full time race drive, Davidson and Heidfeld have the chance of Antonio's test seat. If Pizzonia does not get the race seat, Williams has previously said it will keep him as test driver.

Davidson impressed in the Friday practice sessions at race weekends this season, while Heidfeld, despite the uncompetitive Jordan, is well regarded as a driver. There was no mention of David Coulthard, who has been lobbying for the Williams drive, testing for the team.
