unday Race - May 16th
Despite a great effort from both drivers and the Team, the Arrows Team was unable to bring both cars to the finish line at the Monaco Grand Prix. Pedro had to retire with a gearbox problem on lap 32 and Tora on lap 36 with a blown engine.
Pedro de la Rosa: " From the start of the race I had gearbox problems. Nevertheless I kept on going but in the end I had to give up when the gearbox broke. We didn't have a very good weekend on the whole and its best to put it all behind us and concentrate on the next race, which is very important for me. "
Toranosuke Takagi: " At the beginning of the race I tried to catch up with Panis and the car was running really well. After about 10 laps the car was loosing its balance and I could not keep up the chase as before. In the end my engine blew and sadly, I had to retire. I have to thank the Team for their terrific effort during the weekend and especially today, when I damaged my car during the warm-up session. Despite that they made sure the set up of the car was good for the race."
Prince Malik Ado Ibrahim said: "We will try and put this episode behind us as quickly as possible and concentrate on our test next week in Barcelona."
