Vallelunga: Cinti and Raimondo into points
Positive exit for Corbetta Competizioni at Vallelunga in the second-last round of the Italian Formula 3 championship.
Saturday's qualifying offered a fairly positive outcome, with the ninth place on the starting grid obtained by Cinti that constituted a good starting place to aim at points. Raimondo, at his qualifying debut in the category, obtained the sixteenth place of the grid.
Race one was double faced for the team: Cinti was unfortunately involved in an accident that forced him to the retirement during the first lap, while Raimondo managed to get back up to the borders of points, crossing the finish line eleventh.
Certainly more positive was race two, seeing Cinti recovering from the back of the grid up to finishing seventh. Consistent performance from Raimondo too, who crossed the finish line in tenth place, obtaining therefore his first point.
In the rookies' classification, Cinti is now third at 114 points, five clear of Edoardo Libearti (Lucidi Motors).
Angelo Corbetta (Corbetta Competizioni, Team Principal): "This has been a positive weekend for our team: in the initial stages of race one, Cinti has been victim of an accident that unfortunately caused him a contusion to the wrist. In race two he has been skilled in recovering from the back up to the seventh final place with which he strengthened his third place in the rookies' classification. Raimondo finished both races and obtained some points despite the difficult conditions in race two. This is a promising debut in Formula 3".
The final round of the season is scheduled for 18 October at Monza.
