Imola: Coloni Motorsport qualifying notes

FIA F.3000 International Championship 2002 - Imola qualifying practice:

Pantano 3rd (1.54.860), Toccacelo 8th (1.55.814): good performances for Coloni Motorsport's drivers!

Coloni Motorsport: "We're very pleased about the pace we have here with our two drivers. Pantano was very quick and took a good third position. After Misano test session we have made some small modifications to Pantano's car, which has moved us in the right direction. We are impressive also by the performance of Toccacelo. It was unfortunate that Enrico lost time behind Saelens in his time lap. Without this problem, Toccacelo was able to take the second row. Now, we are looking forward confident to the race."

Giorgio Pantano: "The car worked well. I am satisfied with my 2nd row, expecially because I did not test in Imola with the new Lola B2/50. I think that will be a realistic possibility to take the podium. I don't know whether it will be wet or dry; anyway I will start to achieve a prestigious result."

Enrico Toccacelo: "The car was easy to drive today and I am happy with his handling. I am a little bit disappointed because in my quickest lap Saelens closed me and penalized my time. In the telemetry, I saw that my time in the first and third sector was the same of Pantano, but I left 1 second from Piratella and Acque Minerali behind the Belgian driver. Anyway, I am confident with the race. The start will be extremely important."
